To begin with, the event was scheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the YMCA on 6601 North Buffalo Drive, Las Vegas, NV. It never got started. MEETING ON PROPOSED SEPTIC SYSTEM POSTPONED ON 1500 PLUS ATTENDEES has immediate seating issues.
Overflow Lines Shortly Form

First, as many had anticipated, lines were long from the start. In addition, the line to get in formed throughout the YMCA building. Lastly, the line extended into the parking lot.
Meeting Room Holds a Maximum of 150 Guests

Second, the main presentation room was fairly large, with a seating capacity of approximately 150 people. Second, the suggestion was to bring in more seating. Finally, as it turned out, that still wasn’t enough. Patrions were continually coming in with a line forming to the outside.
Other Classrooms Were Open to Accommodate Overflow
This included smaller rooms with limited capacity.
Scott Brown’s Assurance Wasn’t Taken Well
Finally, Scott Brown tried to explain what would not change, but his words were not taken kindly.
“if you have a septic system currently connected to municipal water, you do not have to have it inspected every 5 years and get a new permit and pay $226.00. That is all jurisdictions.” Scott Brown, Chairman of the Southern Nevada Health District.
