Thousands Attend Blast Off in the Basin — A Centennial Hills 4th of July to Remember!
CENTENNIAL HILLS Blast Off in the Basin

On Friday, July 4, 2025, thousands gathered at Buckskin Basin Park for the much-anticipated Blast Off in the Basin Independence Day celebration, and it did not disappoint. With a perfect summer breeze and clear skies, this year’s event was one for the record books!
Blast Off in the Basin A True Patriotic Kickoff
The evening began at 8:00 PM, led by the Somerset-SkyPointe Marching Band in full-dress uniform — setting a spirited and patriotic tone for the night. Their performance honored the birthday of our nation in style and kicked off the festivities with heart and rhythm.
City Leaders Welcome the Crowd
Councilwomen Francis Allen-Palenske and Nancy Brune opened the celebration with a warm welcome, followed by remarks from Mayor, Shelley Berkley of the City of Las Vegas. Their presence brought a true sense of community and pride to the gathering.
The Drone Show Stole the Spotlight
One of the most talked-about highlights? The incredible drone show — an idea brought to life by Councilwoman Palenske’s team. Giant, glowing images appeared in the night sky as if by magic: the American flag, the Statue of Liberty, and the stunning Liberty Bell finale left the crowd in awe.
Fireworks Finale Fit for the Strip
The night concluded with a fireworks show that rivaled anything seen on the Las Vegas Strip. Vibrant colors and thunderous booms lit up the basin, capping off an unforgettable night of celebration.
